I’m sure I will post more about this in the future considering my hatred, but I came across this quote and needed to repeat it:
Referring to cilantro in a dish, Julia Child said, “I would pick it out if I saw it and throw it on the floor.”
A woman after my own heart.
I use Cilantro all the time, speaking of the Devil. It has to be in many Latin recipes and is a nice touch in many dips especially salsa’s. I suppose you prefer American Parsley for a flat fuzzy taste. I only use parsley in Phil the Mover’s World Famous Potato Salad.
I’m sorry Phil, we can’t be friends anymore.
:) Kidding! I know it is very popular in those dishes but I just can’t stand it! It’s my loss, I know, and I’d really like to get over my hatred but alas….I can’t even eat at Chipotle because there’s just too much to pick out! And parsley – yes, I am okay with parsley and would use that first as a substitute…but often find that I’m satisfied with nothing as a replacement. I don’t feel I’m missing out!
It tastes like perfume to me, I can’t tolerate it because it ruins everything. My brother-in-law, on the other hand, literally eats it by the handfuls! Pun intended, lol!
We would get along WELL Kim!! :D
Cilantro hatred is a DNA thing , to some people it tastes like soap.
I on the other hand, love the shit out of it lol
Yess Chloe, it makes me feel better to know that. You can have ALLLL my cilantro!! :D <3
