I had my first successful Nutritarian Day. 100% successful. That feels FANTASTIC. Especially after having like 14 100% unsuccessful days in a row (actually very unlike me)…I’m back on track!
I drink 30 ounces of water 5 times per day, every day. I try to get in two 30-ounce glasses before 12 pm to keep me on track. So that happened. And I drank the other 3 glasses as planned.
First thing I had was what I’m calling my Morning Fire Smoothie. It’s a little smoothie with simple ingredients that I absolutely adore.
So I drink that first thing for two reasons: it’s a little spicy from the ginger so it wakes me and my tastebuds up. Also, I have a strong belief that lemons are good for my kidneys, so I’m finding creative ways to have lemon every day. This is easy and gets me going! Fire in the belly! There’s a lot of fiber from the dates and lemon, so it keeps my hunger at bay until I do a smoothie or oatmeal later in the morning.
I want to try adding in a little cayenne pepper or some cinnamon. I also will add a bit of frozen fruit at some point as well to mix it up. But for now, I love it how it is. And it’s sweet from the dates!
And then around noon I made a smoothie from a recipe my friend Sarah gave me:
Apple Cinnamon Smoothie
1 frozen banana
1 red apple
1 1/4 cup almond milk
1 1/2 cup greens (I used romaine)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add all ingredients to high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Add ice if you like it colder.
Had that for mid-day breakfast type meal.
Then I got hungry again around 2 or 3, so I had my salad. Usually I call it the Kitchen Sink Salad because it has everything in it that’s available in the kitchen, lol. But yesterday I started calling it the Sunshine Salad because of the fantastic light dressing I made that made it all sunshine-y and bright.
Sunshine Salad
The salad consisted of: romaine, radicchio, raw broccoli slaw, orange and yellow peppers, shredded carrots, corn, black beans, water sautéed mushrooms, hemp seeds, crushed walnuts, dressing.
And the dressing was one Fuhrman had posted on the Dr. Oz website. Find Dr. Fuhrman’s Orange Cashew dressing here.
And the best part is you can eat a TON of that salad, get super full and be totally satisfied. And use as much dressing as you need too, and you’re good to go. I ended up using a huge glass mixing bowl to eat it from, and I ate the whole thing. I probably had 6 or 7 cups of it, and the lettuce was super small pieces so it was DENSE. It was delicious, and it kept me full through the ENTIRE rest of the day.
I even went to an 1hr15min Insanity workout OUTSIDE in the 80 degree weather and never got hungry after that either. It was amazing.
I had planned on having some leftover soup from the freezer, but I wasn’t even hungry for it. So today maybe!
I will probably have all the same things for the next 4 days, because that’s how I roll. And that’s how it’s easiest to do this healthy stuff when you’re busy. It’s already all made practically!
So day 1 down, and I’m super happy. Only 41 more days to go on my Nutritarian Challenge. Feeling great and I know I can get through this whole challenge. I am SO DAMN EXCITED for my tastebuds to turn into happy well-adjusted individuals.
Follow along if you’d like! If you give it about a week, you’ll be able to follow along a week behind me and be able to plan the whole thing marvelously.
But keep up, because when this is done, I may take down the content and turn it into a meal plan for sale. :) So get it while it’s hot.
So happy to be with you on this journey! Heading to the website now to check out the bowl/slicer and get committed to a 42 day challenge with you!
Aahh!! So excited, sweets!! DO IT!! xoxo
