Usually on my posts, I’m blabbing about my new recipes, awesome funny cocktails, and most importantly, easy and motivational tips to support you in your health-finding journey. But this one is special in a different way — this post gives my favorite Top 9 Healthy Food Blogs that I use and follow every single day.

Today I wanted to do something a little different because I realize and admit that I am a complete product of my surroundings…we all are.

They say that you are most influenced by the 5 people that you keep closest to you. In other words, if you’re surrounded by people without jobs, who lack education, motivation and/or inspiration, etc, then you are more likely to be headed in the same direction at some point…

But on the other hand, if you surround yourself with people who just seem to have it figured out, who are smarter than you, faster than you, healthier than you, etc…then chances are you will become the same as time goes on.

Surround yourself with success and you will attract success!

…so here are the people who are healthier than me on the internet, that I look up to for inspiration and information every single day.

Even if we are having an off day, an off week…or let’s face it, an off year…come back to these types of sites and people when you need more motivation!

My Top 10 Healthy Food Inspirations

Oh She Glows

Angela Liddon | Oh She Glows

Oh She Glows

This is the website of the amazing Angela Liddon, an extraordinary vegan food blogger with amazing recipes. Seriously. She inspired my obsession with spiralizers a few years back, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. Her site has so much fantastic information on how to get started with veganism (or if you’re not into that, just how to start getting healthy!) with easy tips on meals to make, and how to make it work with busy schedules. Highly recommended…and her cookbooks are incredible.

Vegan Ranch and "Wings" | Plant Strong Vegan

The Plant Strong Vegan

This is one of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram, and I’ve been drooling over her stuff for a long time now. Margaret is an awesome blogger with gorgeous pictures and a super helpful blog for those of us who are just getting started or need a little help. She even has a great $25 per week meal plan to show you some easy ways to get started. What’s really special is she’s become sort of a “vegan wing” connoisseur and I love too see all the imaginative ways she makes these cauliflower bites.

Vegan Snickers | Holy Health

Holy Health

I’ve been following Gal on Instagram for a while now, and I love looking at her stuff for the food porn aspect — I want to make sweet love to all of her pictures! :) It may not be the healthiest thing you could eat in general, but they are great recipes for some replacements for your current dessert/processed foods.

Pamela Salzman

I LOVE Pamela Salzman’s recipes. The end. Just kidding — she’s amazing though. I started following her on Instagram (like most of the others) and I can’t get enough of her stuff. I have a soft spot for her because she does video too, and her recipes are just fabulous. She is a certified holistic health counselor and she even has a bunch of meal plans on her site that are so great.

Cuchira

Ok, so this one is totally not a food blog. She’s a yogini and advocate for self-love and confidence. I follow her on Instagram and she is so super inspiring, in general…about being yourself because you are “beYOUtiful”. And her husband is pretty freaking amazing, too. So inspirational.

Dr Fuhrman’s Nutritarian Food Pyramid

Ok, if you know anything about me, you know this is the guy that changed my life. It was his book called Eat to Live that helped me with the nutritional knowledge to understand the importance of living a healthy life for longevity. And we would all want longevity if we knew it came alongside a healthy, strong, fit body, right? Check out the website, and check out the books. It just might change yours too. :)

Kimberly Snyder

She’s a celebrity nutritionist in LA, world traveler…and has a fantastic food and lifestyle blog with tons of great recipes. As the creator of the “Beauty Detox” movement, she’s inspirational in the getting-healthy department, and I haven’t tried a recipe of hers yet that I didn’t like. You can also find lots of great information and research…and a lot of “How To” information for motivation along your journey.

Deliciously Ella

Deliciously Ella

Ella started her food blog a few years back with the purpose of trying to heal herself from a debilitating illness — and the food worked! The power of nutrition is something that is overlooked constantly, and Ella’s blog is a reminder that we can heal ourselves if we just take control of our own nutritional destiny! Her recipes are clean, delicious and the photography is gorgeous. Oh and did I mention the recipes are delicious?

Thug Kitchen

Alright, I couldn’t create a blog post without having something that was a little off color. Thug Kitchen is known for having amazing recipes…coupled with lots of swearwords. :) I find this blog extremely entertaining, and you just might too…that is if you’re not easily offended. Their catchphrase is “Eat Like You Give a F*ck” so yeah…you know where this one is going. But seriously, the recipes are fantastic, and the information on the site is super great. And you never know, you just might find yourself cracking up… :P

In Conclusion:

So yeah, sorry about that rabbit hole you’re about to fall into getting familiar with all these new resources. But once you get hooked on some food blogs, it becomes much harder to say, “Oh I could never do that…” or, “Oh that food looks so gross and unappetizing.”

Because it’s really SOOO appealing and knowing that there are so many resources to fall back on really starts to feel a bit…well…comforting, knowing there actually is a whole world of people like you who really care about their health and want to be their absolute best.

So let’s shrink that excuse list….and get crackin! ;)

Now Answer This:

  • What usually inspires you the most to keep you on track? Do you have a particularly favorite food blog?
