Use a Vitamix to Chop Vegetables

Thanks to Emily, who put this suggestion in our YouTube comments. Put it on a low speed and add the veggies a cup at a time. Let it go till you’re satisfied with the chop. Be careful not to crowd the blender.  If you put in too much at once you’ll get some chopped too large and too fine. Saves lots of time and makes salads more do-able. Can also do the same for veggies for soups, a stirfry etc.

An added bonus of this method is for chopping onions – you’re directing the fumes so you don’t cry!

Making 3 Simultaneous Salads

This tip comes from Maria in our monthly coaching membership – the Eat To Live Family. Making 3 salads at a time is a great way to save time as the ingredients last for a good 3 days, even chopped up – even tomatoes and cucumbers. So why chop every single day when you can chop every third day? If you chop 3 times as much each time you chop, it will save you lots of time overall.

Three Seed Blend

A hack from another Eat To Live Family member, Liz.  Keep a jar/tub of all of your high omega 3 seeds (like flax, hemp and chia) ground up and ready to use whenever you need them. To get the nutrition from all these seeds, on a regular basis, grinding them up together.  Add one or 2 tablespoons of the mixture to your morning smoothies, add into a soup as a thickener or add it to your salads. Grinding chia seeds ensures getting the full nutrition out of them, rather than so much of the goodness and nutrition passing through your digestive tract undigested. Keep it in a container in the fridge and just scoop it out whenever you need it.
